These rules exist to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members of Heroes RP: Stage Two, and to ensure that the board runs smoothly and provides a fun experience for all of our community members.
Keep in mind that you will not be allowed or able to post on the site until you have had your character sheet approved by TWO members of staff. NPC applications only need ONE staff member to approve them. When you have filled out your Profile page, please wait for a member of staff to approve them. If there is a considerable delay, (over 24 hours) please message a staff member.
Staff members reserve the right to modify or add rules at any given time, and an announcement will be made if/when rules are changed. Failure to follow the rules will result in a warning, (of which you get three) and if you continue to disregard the rules, you will be banned from this community for a period of time or permanently depending on the severity of your infraction.

- No god-modding, shadow-modding, or metagaming. Shadow Modding is controlling another player's actions. God-modding is when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. Metagaming is using information gained outside of RP that your character would have no way of knowing.
- Members are limited to one character per username/account, though there is no limit on the number of accounts you may have.
- As of 3/24/2017, there is a minimum word count of 150 words. Anything that a player copy/pastes into the post will not contribute to this total, and neither will out-of-character comments. Posts that fail to reach this requirement should be swiftly reported.
- No excessive or hard swearing. An expletive should carry meaning and emphasis, and not be used liberally. Swearing will not be tolerated whatsoever in the Shoutbox or in Discord.
- No trolling. Do not intentionally irritate or provoke other members, and do not harass other members of the site.
- Respect other members and staff. This goes without saying.
- Signatures need to be short and include a link to a character's application. You can add anything else you like in your character's signature, (a quote, theme song, etc) but a link to the character application is a must!
- Please make sure that there is an order in posting, one member after another in a specific sequence. The post order is sacred!
- You cannot kill another member's character without their consent.
- If a member does not post for one week in a thread with multiple people, it is permissible to skip them. This time is reduced to 48 hours when in quest or event threads.

Topic Flags
Members may use one of the following topic flags to mark their posts, and these flags must be respected:
- (Private) or (P): This topic is private. To reply, please contact the person who started the topic for permission.
- (L:#): This topic is open to a limited number of people. The topic starter is included in the number. For example, a topic marked L:2 is open to one other person, L:3 is limited to two other people plus the person who started the topic, and so on.
- (Quest) or (Q): This is a quest thread, meaning that participants are attempting to challenge a staff-created quest. These are usually very difficult!
- (Event or (E): This is an event thread, meaning that participants are attempting to challenge a member-created event. To reply, please review the event information in the Event Index thread.
- (STORY MISSION #): This is a story mission thread. These are created and maintained by the administrators of Heroes RP. Think of them as site-wide events. To reply, please first sign up in the sign-up thread.
- Posts without a flag, or that are marked (Open) or (O) are open. Anyone may reply, without restriction.
