(NOTE: The following is just speculation, and is Ironsheep taking note of the types of meta-humans that have been seen on-site thus far. This is far from a definitive guide.)
As it stands, there are various kinds of people affected by metatanium. Some in subtle ways, others in drastic ways. However, what stands true is that oftentimes they will gain some kind of supernatural or otherwise abnormal abilities that set them apart from humans. As of now, classifications for different kinds of superhumans have come into existence.
Keep in mind that meta-humans can bear numerous classifications if they do not fall under only one category. Though, it will usually never exceed any more than two. Another note is that those with metatanium poisoning aren’t contained within these classifications, and are hereby referred to as meta-mutants.
Meta-Bodies
Meta-Bodies are potentially the simplest forms of mutations as well as one of the most common. A meta-human classified as a Meta-Body will have mutagenic traits which have altered the size, or shape of their bodies as well as altering their physical capabilities. Some may vary from latent capabilities, such as Ironsheep’s naturally high physical strength or Glitch Kong’s vastly slowed down aging. Some may have a need to ‘awaken’ these traits so to speak, having to forcibly activate them for a temporary boost, like Berserker’s Primal Rage or Biowolf’s Wolven Frenzy. Otherwise, those who primarily utilise their physical forms for their abilities can be considered Meta-Bodies (Though they might fall under other categories if the changes are big enough.) On an aside, due to a lack of identification with other categories, mutations which influence one’s intelligence that AREN’T considered psionic or psychokinetic are classified under this category.
Faunamorphs
A somewhat uncommon variety of mutant, Faunamorphs (Originally drafted as Animorphs before legal issues arose between the US Government and K.A.Applegate) can be considered the closest to metatanium poisoning a meta-human can be due to the rather stark changes to one’s body these mutations have. An Faunamorph, to put it simply, are meta-humans that have animalistic features with abilities pertaining to these features. For example, would be Barbara Starr with her serpentine features and acidic palms, or Biowolf’s canine features with enhanced senses. Though these features can vary wildly, they never fully detract from one’s human shape or features. Which is the biggest distinction between these people and those with metatanium poisoning. Well, that and their minds are entirely untouched.
Physiomorphs
A much rarer variety of meta-human, Physiomorphs are classified as those capable of manipulating the states of their bodies off of its standard molecular structure. Though often confused as Meta-Bodies, mutants with this classification can modify their bodies to extreme lengths, far beyond both reason or physical capability. A notable example of a Physiomorph would be the hero Dust Bunny, who can restructure their body into a cloud of dust for rapid movement. Though they can alter their bodies to such extremes, this often leaves them with simple and very exploitable weaknesses, which can lead to an early demise if they aren’t careful.
Elementalists
Elementalists are amongst the more dangerous of meta-humans, this is due to the fact that they are all capable of manipulating any sort of element in one way or another. Whether through direct contact or using their minds, Elementalists are capable of bending one or two elements to their wills. Some examples include Tectonic, who is capable of manipulating the earth so long as their feet are touching the ground, or the lecherous and often unsuccessful Frostbite, who has a seemingly quite inconsistent control over ice. So far there haven't been many recorded Elementalists to have any sort of Meta-Body traits. However, oftentimes Elementalists can be classified as Psychics as well due to the correlations often occurring between the two.
Psychics
Psychics are meta-humans that are capable of interacting with the world around them utilising only their minds. Whether it be interacting with the minds of others or objects around them, they display varying levels of psychic power. Though, it is worth noting that these psychic manipulations of the world around them don’t often achieve the same heights as those with physical abilities that allow them to do the very same. For example, someone bearing Ferrokinesis wouldn’t quite be able to hoist around a heavy object as well as one bearing proper super-strength. Some examples of those bearing psychic abilities are of the hero Golden Road, who can manipulate flame and high temperatures via Pyrokinesis and Thermokinesis, or the enigmatic Hannah, who is capable of feeling (and seemingly feeding off of) the emotions of others via Empathy. One thing to note is that there are very few Psychic mutation holders that have any kind of physically altering mutations.
Abnormalities
Abnormalities are considerably the most dangerous meta-humans recorded as it stands. This is mostly due to the anomalous traits of their mutations, which, as it stands, are impossible to classify. Typically unexplainable and very powerful, Abnormalities can display any number of abilities, and can manifest in any variety of meta-human. Rhun O’Leary and Carrie Catcher are both shining examples, with Rhun’s ability to multiply himself and seemingly access a pocket dimension, while Carrie can (almost) seamlessly copy the mutagenic traits and personality traits of others. Abnormalities should be treated with caution, due to the varying levels of danger they can present.
