Name: Huohua Long
Alias: Baozha Hua (Explosive Flower)
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Affiliation: Rebel
Appearance
Huohua is apart of the largest ethnic group called Han Chinese, with a height of 5’2 and medium length black hair, she also sports freckles. She has a light body weight, being extremely slim due to most of her body’s energy dedicated to causing explosions, and has horns sprouting from her head toward the back, a faded dark-red around her scalp fading to a yellowish-white toward the tip of her horns. She has a tail sporting the same faded red, and at the end of it has a triangle-shaped, colored a yellowish white, tip with three drilled holes leading from the very tip of the triangle and growing larger in size as it goes down, representing her relation to her father, and also allowing her to sport piercings within and around them. Huohua lastly has feathers around the edges of both her horns and her tail, having the same gradient but with a vibrant red and white instead, and the occasion bright red stripes along each feather.
Regarding clothing, she normally just wears a normal black t-shirt with grey jeans, black PUMA Muse En Pointe athletic shoes, and a large black button-up trench-coat with a hoodie, with a patch on the left shoulder representing her dad’s company in red, with vibrant red lines near the edges of the trench-coat in question.
Personality
Somewhat absent in both conversation and mind, Huohua is a listener with an unwillingness to lead in conversation, finding more to it by listening to other’s conversations, friend or unknown. This allows her to keep most thoughts to herself, including questions, unless she truly wants to peer more into a person’s story. She is perfectly fine with someone who speaks mostly of themselves and will even push them to continue despite if she hasn’t said a word about herself or other news. Sometimes, they even spill information beneficial to her own goals.
In addition to her absentness, Huohua can also seem extremely calm and neutral regarding any situation besides those that end in extreme conflicts, with a clear state of mind allowing her to think quick and decisively in a time-based situation, if it’s required of her. This aspect of her personality allows Huohua to be somewhat approachable and friendly to others, seemingly boasting an open-minded personality. There has never been a time where she was known to put down others for what they think, unless she believes they’re missing something out of the big picture, such as China’s problems, where she will then try to update them on the correct information as non-threatening to their beliefs as possible, not looking for a fight.
However, there is evidence that Huohua can become extremely determined and stubborn for what she believes is right, her rebellious nature more prominent if a situation escalates into an argument, or a full-on fight. Though, she isn’t very easy to aggravate, but if the person seems absolutely impossible to get their understanding, she may become heated.
History
In Hong Kong, 2010, Huohua was born to the household name of Long, being the second child six years after her brother Jufeng’s birth. She, and her brother, both carried a second-generation mutation inherited from their parents, presenting a new combination within Huohua while Jufeng gained a stronger form of his mother’s mutation, wind manipulation. Besides also gaining physical traits with the mutations in question, Huohua and her brother also became candidates for taking over their parent’s IT company, which at the time, being the oldest, made Jufeng the most likely candidate as Huohua was much younger then him. However, that didn’t stop her from getting unique opportunities, as when she got older, around the age of five, she was introduced to a world other than her parent’s company, the modeling industry.
Her mutation gave her physical attributes that in some people’s eyes looked adorable, especially with her being so young. With such an advantage she joined in, and was famous for a short time, especially among the Meta-Human community, until the civil war broke out across China when she was eight. Her brother, fourteen at that point, joined their father Huo Long in the apparent rebellion, fighting for their own ideals and those of others. They were a powerful duo, especially when they combined their powers in battle, whipping up small firestorms that helped ravage the country in the long run. Though, these two wouldn’t be able to protect their family as all the fighting became extremely destructive, and close to home.
Huohua and her mother had remained behind during the war, since Huohua was both too young to fight and had no powers of her own yet. They thought they would be safe behind the front lines, but they were wrong, watching as a rogue blast crashed into their home and caused the building to collapse, the two trapped within the dust and rubble that remained of the building. With her mother disabled, and she herself trapped, Huohua gripped a broken metal pipe and summoned her power to manifest itself at last, a ball of explosive energy emerging from the tip of the pipe, only to launch upward, further into the rubble above her before erupting into an explosion, sending more dust into the air as the rubble either shifted or had been blown away, making it possible for rescue teams to reach them. After that, the war seemed to drop in intensity as resources from every side were depleted, leading to the war stalling, and the rebellion a failure. Huohua’s father and brother returned home in shame, and upon hearing the news of the building’s collapse, were only thankful that their family had survived, albeit barely.
With wounds from the ordeal, and her mother unable to walk on her own for a time, Huohua decided to leave the modeling industry and care for her mother alone, dedicating her time to her while Jufeng finished his training with their father. Her mother alone was kind and high-spirited despite her crippling injury, Huohua enjoying her new role until her mother was able to walk on her own years later. Meanwhile, the two bonded together much closer then Huohua was to her brother or father, and after her mother tested Huohua to find her motivations, for unknown reasons, she mentored Huohua in expanding upon her ability, gifting her a staff she once used herself as a weapon to focus her own power, and now for Huohua to use in helping others, or accomplishing what the civil war could not. Huohua further would’ve become a superstar like many who chose to in her later years, but Huohua saw something different than those who looked up to them, she saw people who were covering up tragedy, horrid living, and the like.
She left home after reaching the age of nineteen, and while not the loudest in speech, she protested with others who wanted to fix China’s problems instead of covering them up.
Power-Explosive Manipulation
With an ability to manipulate explosions, Huohua can summon energy only into the palmar side of her hands to create explosions upon contact, which can then be channeled through a narrow weapon to create a ranged attack, or left unchanneled to give her an explosive touch.
When it is channeled, the energy goes through her weapon of choice and creates a ball of energy (with an exterior texture similar to glass) that can be swung and released, which will only explode if it hits anything with a high enough velocity (50MPH). This energy ball can be destroyed peacefully through Huohua reabsorbing the energy, or anyone crushing the ball with their hands (A harmless wave of energy emitting from the former ball.)
However, without a weapon to channel her explosive capability, Huohua’s hands are her greatest weapon, using them to create explosions that while are weaker then her ranged attack, are extremely centered around the point of contact, creating a rippling effect through the muscle, or causing burns to the skin. In the case of an object, it may destroy it instantly if it’s small object, or cause damage if it’s a large object (Scorch-marks, fire, etc.)
The range of her explosions can increase with the energy summoning duration, the base yield being 4 to 5 meters and increasing steadily over two minutes, possibly becoming extremely destructive as either the melee becomes more lethal, or her ranged attack becomes larger in both the size of the energy ball, and the explosion to follow.
Her attacks can increase or decrease in strength depending on how much heat she’s siphoned from thermal sources, increasing quickly every 30 seconds in heatwaves over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, or not increasing at all in temperatures under 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lastly, Huohua does have variations to her explosive manipulation, having the classic heat explosion, a weaker, heatless explosion, and a colored variation explosion that acts more like a flashbang, no heat and barely any power to begin with (Yield remains at 4-5 Meters.)
Drawbacks: While powerful, Huohua runs the risk of possibly blowing herself up if any of her attacks are redirected to her, including the palmar side of her hands touching her body while her explosive touch is active, or if she is hit with one of her ranged explosives. Her hands can also become burned and even charred depending on if she uses a heated explosion through her hands twice, and or the power behind it.
Her attacks need constant fuel from a thermal source, which she can gather through siphoning heat from the thermal sources in question, but regardless of how much heat she gathers, she will always feel cold in temperatures below 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and can become weak at 40 degrees Fahrenheit, or even disabled at 20 degrees Fahrenheit in cold phenomenon or weather.
Strengths/Weaknesses
+- Huohua’s determination or stubbornness allows her to persevere and keep going no matter what happens, though for better or worse, is the question.
+Thanks to her exposure to her father’s company, Huohua’s experience in IT security systems is relatively useful, though she’s less a professional and more of a hobbyist when it comes down to it, testing security systems for money, and finding ways to break through it for future reference.
- Huohua is more experienced with channeling her attacks through her staff, and though she can use her explosive touch, she isn’t skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

-+ Superstars: While Huohua isn’t a big fan of them and will personally say she dislikes them, she does respect that some of them are good, and are providing protection that might’ve not been there otherwise in people’s time of need.

+Chocolate
+Drawing
+Memes: She likes looking at memes and making said memes.
+Lounging around: Huohua can be seen mostly sitting around or ‘lounging,’ seemingly unwilling to stand and sitting whenever she gets a chance.
-Tail: Huohua has always been self-conscious about her tail after an incident when she was younger, when she was repeatably told to hide her tail.
-Cats
-Cold: Huohua pretty much fears cold and can often be seen wearing a trench-coat or, if she’s at home, bundled in at least one blanket.
