The Wan Chai market had changed from its original design, once being a lumpy market, to instead be a booming market for both residents and tourists alike. There were countless street vendors spaced out in the newly built parking garage, along with official stores crammed into a mall, everything easily accessible, and enjoyable to do one’s daily shopping with ease. However, the same could not be said in Mimi’s case, a young civilian girl on her own browsing the Street Vendors, unsure between different lunches which were fresh out of the oven, mostly containing vegetarian products, to her dismay. She was constantly being shifting her weight between the two lunches, in particular, one with Atlantic salmon with the side of fried rice n’ shrimp, the other being a western classic, Steak with a partial salad n’ fries. Certainly, both were evenly matched at price, but either could possibly contain a higher quality, or a more difficult method of consumption as with the steak, it would be annoying to slice into small bites, while the shrimp would require actually eating the meal with her fingers, something that was equally annoying when you have to constantly clean your fingers… Then again, it was enjoyable to savor the flavor once peeled from the shrimp’s tail.
Regardless, she was completely torn, and the vendor was starting to become annoyed with her inability to buy anything, his expression betraying him. What could Mimi do though? She needed lunch and she certainly didn’t feel like cooking at home, especially with the dishes needing to be done and it is her turn to do them, plus she was going to go on patrol in a few hours and home was far into the second level of the city, somewhere near the edge if she recalled correctly, since she normally let the GPS tell her where to go… What level was she on currently anyhow, was she on the second level as well? Mimi needed to keep a better track of her location, that was all there was to it. Suddenly Mimi was dragged out of her thoughts as a woman crossed in front of her, picking up one of the other meals she hadn’t considered, and then Mimi suddenly regretted her choice of options to choose from, realizing the meal the woman chose had both steak and fish, along with a side of shrimp. Curse her for not noticing it beforehand, now she was going to probably starve knowing she could’ve had everything that she wanted in a meal!
Mimi’s eyes were back on the two lunches, actually taking the moment to think seriously on which one would be better, considering the variables… And giving her a nasty headache for actually thinking, especially about food that should be for eating, not watching. Mimi crossed her arms, puffed her cheek, and viciously stared at the lunches further, trying to decide, trying to decide… What would be better? She tapped her foot impatiently as the gears in her head turned and turned, and slowly but surely, they were starting to lean toward the fish lunch, since rice wasn’t actually a veggie… Although fried rice did have some in it, namely small carrots bits and whatnot. Blah, what if the fish wasn’t any good too? Lemon pepper ’n grilled was great but if it wasn’t done correctly or cooked thoroughly, it wasn’t good unless paired with sushi, which people probably didn’t use seasoning for that anyhow, if she was right. At least with steak, it was great if it wasn’t cooked all the way, although it could be dangerous health-wise… Or was it?
Mimi was probably going to die of old age if she didn’t decide soon, that or the vendor was going to kill her by his somewhat constant glare and wish for her to actually *buy* something.

Its not too surprising to Io that there were still markets he had yet to venture to, the Wan Chai market was one of said locations. Having as much free time as he does right now feels a bit odd, no more classes or exams.. It was nice but he knew it was just the calm before the storm, life never stays silent for too long for anyone. Having got to the market rather early, Io had been wondering around viewing the stalls and checking out various shops that had something that peaked his interest, which included this small fish stall selling some of the cleanest carp he had seen in weeks.
Leaving his order with most of the merchants, that were willing to deliver the food her purchased to his home, he did have a small white bag in his hand. Stopping at a lovely bakery he had grabbed a few small treats for later, still wondering the markets and planning on leaving to head back home shortly before he over worked himself, he was stopped at the sight of a young women seeminly unable to choose between two items... And a fairly pissed off looking vender.
Stepping out from behind the women Io spoke rather softly but still seemed a bit raspy as he spoke, "Sorry for the wait, we will take both of these." He bowed his head slightly and handed the man a black card, as the vender seemed to smile both at the fact he made some coin and that someone wasn't eatting his food with their eyes any longer. The man bagged up both items neatly into a platic bag and handed them to Io.
"Here ya go.. I have a hard time choosing what I want myself." He smiled but couldnt really see it from behind his medical mask, his eyes made him look like he was really about to keel over, but he seemed just fine.. At the moment at least. He awaited with the bag containing the two meals out to the girl, hopeing she would take it soon since his arm was getting tired already.

…
Surprised and confused, Mimi’s arms uncrossed n’ body became still while she watched as a stranger came between her and the food, tilting her head as she became unsure if she should react offended, or accept the offering provided in the time to follow. Meanwhile, the soft-spoken acquaintance would further on hand her the neatly tied bag made by the vendor, her gaze switching between that of the vendor in question and now of the tired man with a mask, attempting to logic this sudden appearance of what could either be pity, or compassion. Once again undecided on that front, she took the bag from his grasp carefully; somewhat sure he’d fall apart the second she touched him with an arm as weak as that. “Erm… Thank you, I suppose?” she replied in somewhat disbelief, staring at the bag of both meals she had just previously contemplated upon. It was certainly an effective strategy for indecision, but it was also a costly one, doubling the original price of what could be considered home-made foods.
Then she remembered the black card that had been only visible for a few seconds before the extremely pale acquaintance had put it back, suddenly realizing that if you had enough money to give others and not to suffer on your own front while doing so, indecision was nothing serious compared to other problems one might face financially. This newly found evidence registered his action with pitying her, Mimi somewhat upset as she stared at the boxes in her hand, which she didn’t want to seem like she was being ungrateful, but at the same time, she wanted to make it clear she was financially stable enough to afford these on her own… Or at least, one of these.
“I mean, I could’ve paid for these on my own… Just so you know…” She muttered indistinctively, avoiding his eyes as she rubbed the back of her head while the other held onto the goods. Mimi wasn’t one to admit to her faults, in fact, she was Redstar, that alone should say ‘hey, I’m an epic hero who fights crime and protects Hong Kong better than any superstar on the force’ and that she didn’t need the pity of others… Although, she certainly didn’t have any sponsors, or real publicity, or really anything significant… She needed to work on that. Mimi had been fighting on her own almost completely beside some large events, and even in those cases she wasn’t a bright enough star to be noticed compared to others, since if she shared any relation to the star she earned her name from, she would never be that bright, only efficient and long-lasting in combat.
She peered back at his face, once again noticing the weakened expression he wore across his upper face, almost as if he was bed-ridden, yet he was standing there, presumably smiling. “…Hey uh, are you alright?” She asked, making note that the man looked like he was about to fall over, if not completely disintegrate where he stood. Was he sick with the flu? Or some ungodly disease that didn’t have any symptoms to incapacitate someone yet was still slowly killing them inside?
Should she actually be concerned despite the fact he was walking upright?

Io watched as this girl seemed to struggle with his actions, was this really that odd? Happy enough she took the meals, this let him rest both arms at his sides again. The smaller bag of treats was small enough that it didnt bother him as much, he nodded his head slowly and then bowed his head slightly to her before returning to his normal stance. "Its not problem at all I-" he paused a moment to cough, bringing his free hand up to cover his mouth from the other side of his mask. "Erm.. -I promise." Quickly finishing his sentence that his cough interrupted.
He cocked his head to the side as she looked away from him, informing him she could have paid for the meals on her own, "Ah! Im sure you could have but um.. Well you just seemed like you wanted both." His tired voice matched his tired eyes, he truly only meant well by this act. It honestly wasn't even the first time he had done this same thing today.
Then again maybe she just didn't want to catch what ever unholy illness he had, which of course she had nothing to worry about as Io isn't contiguous thankfully. It wouldn't be the first time that someone didn't like to have him in their presents, which he couldn't blame them for it since he did seem so sickly. It was part of why he was never sent to public schooling when he was younger, even most of his higher learning was over a screen. As he was about to turn and leave she spoke again, this time asking if he was okay. Io sighed and rubbed the back of his own head as he nodded again to the young women.
"Yes, im fine.. Kinda." He mumbled the end, "Sorry to worry you, please have a lovely day." He smiled again, his worn out eyes shut for a moment as he bowed once more to her again. Turning and placing his free hand into his pocket he began to walk away when his stomach let out an oddly loud growl. Io stopped for a moment before turning back to face the young women, "On second thought... I could use a bite now.. Um.. Care to join me?"
He asked as he nodded towards a small, cozy looking cafe just up the street from them, "My treat of course." He said while he awaited a response, it had been too long since breakfast so he had planned to visit the cafe regardless if she came with him or not, but company is always appreciated.

Mimi stared at him, the word ‘confused’ embezzled onto her facial expression. He certainly was sick, a cough erupting from his lungs as he tried to explain himself. Was it contagious…? Even if it was, Mimi was probably immune to disease now that she wasn’t drugged and submerging her powers. Damn you, mom. Who even does that anyway? So what if your kid happens to have powers, what’s the problem with that? She’s saved countless lives just a few months in, and her mother has the audacity to claim she kept Mimi’s powers from surfacing because it was a chronic disease? Serves her right that Mimi left, hell, she could stay on her own and di-… No, she wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Not even someone like her.
Mimi was getting off track, her thoughts returning to the sickly man in front of her. She wondered what would happen if she used her ability on him n’ his sickness since she could heal physical wounds with ease… Although, if it’s a sickness then it’s not really physical or something she could touch… It was just well, some sort of virus or bacteria. Although, maybe if she transferred her ability, she could clear up whatever it was in his lungs that was causing him to cough, even if it was for a short while. Hell, maybe his organs were failing and that’s why he looks so sick yet he’s still walking about, she could probably repair them for him, so he’d feel better because honestly, he looked awful.
She didn’t know how long it would last, but maybe it would make him feel better for a little bit.
Mimi waited for him to finish speaking politely, observing his composure and overall status. You’d think someone like him, especially if he had a black card, would go get himself checked out and attend to his own health, but he was just walking around like that, sickly and rugged from the daily struggles, she could see it with the bags under his eyes, besides the obvious look that he was going to fall over at any moment… Mimi found herself confused once again, listening to him excuse himself like ‘oh you can totally eat these two meals on your own gg good luck bye’ and walk away without another word, Mimi in both absolute despair that she didn’t get to try her idea AND THIS GUY THOUGHT SHE COULD EAT TWO MEALS AT ONCE WHAT THE-
Oh. The call for food, she knew it well as she heard the man’s stomach growl even when he had gotten a fair distance from her, like a few feet. HAHA SUCKER YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD ESCAPE THE ALMIGHTY REDSTAR, NICE TRY. She was going to try her idea AND he was going to eat with her because you don’t just shove food someone’s way and call it a day because that’s rude. Thankfully his stomach agreed with her as he turned around, the classic ‘on second thought’ escaping his lips as she listened to the full sentence, and she smiled. She didn’t even have a plan, but this was going to work out, she can try to see how her healing powers would affect a sick man, and she wouldn’t be forced to eat two meals at once since men are like, better at deciding between what they want.
What? This was a common thing, I mean they even have memes for it what do you want me to say?
Although he was old as hell and that’s sort of weird... Then again, maybe he was going to be like those old people who confront kids like ‘You need to figure out what you want to be now if you ever want to get ahead in life’
Haha, she already did, so if he pulls that card she has an epic comeback.
“Aye, did you really expect me to eat both of these on my own!?” She replied to his final statements, holding up the bag to his eye-level. Between them, Mimi was only as tall as his chest, which uh… Explained a lot when it came to fights, how bad guys always assumed the height advantage existed when in reality, the little guys were much more flexible and mobile. She was probably the shortest hero in the fleet even, and that’s assuming she wasn’t going to grow anymore. Regardless, she wasn’t going to let her height ‘disadvantage’ in this case make her fail in her test, lowering the goods down to her waist level and suddenly stopping, turning around as if she had heard something, which she was only using to conceal her movements since frankly, it would be weird if you were going to eat out with someone random and the first thing you do is lick your finger, albeit she was very concealing of the action since she was facing several other people now instead.
Which, this was all under the assumption that her spit was the one that allowed her to transfer her abilities, not the head-kissing normally associated with the transfer. Like, it was basically spit that most people felt when they kissed someone, that was why they were even a different color even… Probably. She turned right back around after she had lowered her finger from the corner of her mouth, “I must be hearing things.” she quietly lied, walking toward the stranger that had changed their mind with the sound of hunger. She was careful not to let her finger dry, however, once she had reached him, she pointed at his face deliberately, trying to ‘accidently’ poke him in the forehead with her healing transfer.
“You should’ve asked me in the first place, I mean I can’t even eat both at these on my own, I have the stomach size comparable to a walnut!” Which was half laughter, and a decent, somewhat loud lie since it wasn’t that small, although she couldn’t eat a meal the size of what most southern American restaurants serve. Regardless, whether or not she got a hit, even if it worked, she smiled, lowering her finger and holding the food with both hands now. If she didn’t hit her target she was just going to have to try something else, Hell maybe since he looks so miserable he’d let her try, again.
She just wanted him to feel better, he looked well, sick.
Mimi peered to look at the suggested café, noticing she’d never been to that specific one before.
“Well, it’s a good thing you’re paying, because I’ve never been there before, Lez go old man, or, what’s your name anyway?” She asked, walking toward the café’ anyhow, although she’d stop if he didn’t respond and she’d wait instead.

While Io himself was rather stoic most of the time, his mask not helping his lack of showing much emotion, this young girl seemed to be animated enough for the both of them plus a small child. Tilting his head to the side a bit when she spoke, "Well.. Maybe? Or you were gonna save o-" he was cut off quickly by the bag being brought up to his own eye level. Looking from the bag down to her, he didn't really notice her clothing before but she looks like some form of hero like himself but uh.. He never really looks the part, which has honestly come in quite handy more than a couple of times.
With her sudden heel turn, Io himself looked up in the same direction. He didn't hear anything other then the normal hustle and bustle of the market place, raising a brow at her sudden return to the conversation at hand.
Jetting back from her finger, he wasn't sure if she just misjudged the distance between the two of them but regardless he was not a fan of being touched in just about any form or manner. Rubbing the back of his neck slightly, "Looks can be deceiving." He said simply, she was both energetic and fairly loud, he himself still a bit lethargic so the two standing together looked pretty mix-matched. Still holding a smile under his mask when she agreed to join him in grabbing a bite to eat, he nodded and walked with her towards the small black Cafe. The windows at a sligjt bit of flair to them and a silver trim to the shop, there was a sign by the entrances that had a few of the how you doing this from their menu written down upon it.
Nothing seemed cheap and everything seemed to almost cost a fortune compared to most places, even the cheapest menu item was outrageously priced for just being an iced coffee.
"Oh.. Names right. Im Otonashi Io, its a please to meet you." He bowed his head slightly to her before taking a seat in a small both near a window. He tried to ignore it but the age comment was still eatting away at him, he knows he looks deathly ill but old? "Im twenty-four you know.. Thats not cough too old ya know." Kind of mumbling that. When a waiter approached the two, dressed in a fancy black and white uniform with a vest and red tie, and placed two thin menus, one each, placed before them and he silently awaited the twos orders.
"Order whatever you like."
He said simply, removing his mask from his face and placing it into his pocket. The menu ranged from simple sandwiches to some crazy looking parfaits and very extra looking cakes. He was mostly waiting for her to order to make sure she wasn't going to just order the cheapest thing on the menu.. But something tells him that might not be the case.
